The Sunday morning church service is when the whole church gathers together to worship God by singing to Him, giving of the time, money, and skill He has graced us with, and receiving a message delivered by a man who senses God's call to preach and teach the message of the Bible.

We record the audio of the sermons during each service and post it over on SoundCloud. This web page provides links to the sermon audio as well as to correlating materials you can use for further research and for group study in your small group.

Shining for Christ this Christmas

Sunday, December 10, 2017

Tis the season to celebrate Christ and to let our witness shine brighter than all of the of the Christmas lights in our community and to continue to look how we can shine Christ around the world.  As many of you know we focus on “Lottie Moon” mission support during the month of December. I realize that some of you may be new to Southside Baptist Church and are not sure what Lottie Moon is all about.

Family Christmas Celebration

Sunday, December 3, 2017

"This Chicken Tastes Funny"

Sunday, November 26, 2017

Several years ago when our family lived in Bainbridge Island, Washington, I remember going to get food for my family at this new small restaurant that opened up. It was very Bohemian in appearance. The odd thing was that the meals were all some type of Asian stir fry. I was in a bit of a hurry so I looked over the menu quickly and saw the words “Chicken Stir fry”. So, I place several to-go orders for the chicken stir fry. They made the meals and gave them to me. It smelled amazing. I couldn’t wait to get home and eat with the family. All of us thought it smelled amazing. Then it happened.

Thanksgiving Celebration

Sunday, November 19, 2017

On November 19 we will have a special celebration of Thanksgiving at 10:00 in the sanctuary. God has given us far more than we need or deserve, and we will gather together as family to share our thankfulness for His blessing. Everyone from the community and our church family is invited to come celebrate Thanksgiving!

Thank you for your service and we pray for God’s mercy and blessing

Sunday, November 12, 2017

I, Michael Walker as Sr. Pastor of Southside Baptist Church want to make something crystal clear. We as a church honor and support our country and our troops. We thank every man and woman who has honorably served our country faithfully in whatever capacity that they were called to serve. We thank the families who allowed their loved ones to pay the ultimate price for the people of this country. We also thank those who are now actively serving in the armed forces.

I See Beautiful People

Sunday, November 5, 2017

“You’ve got to be kidding me; that person is a rebellious headache. She is a wasted life.” I recently had a precious conversation with an amazing and beautiful woman named Lynn. The words in quotation are words that were spoken about her in the past. You see, Lynn has lived through things that are so horrific our naïve minds can’t begin to have a nightmare about them. She has been through things so graphic and dehumanizing that we would rather look away and ignore them than have to see the cruelty some people suffer through. As she shared her story, my heart ached and shuttered.

Not Mine, But His

Sunday, October 29, 2017

In a matter of days, on October 31, many around the world will be celebrating and others lamenting the 500th anniversary of the actions of a single monk. Considered the opening act of what later became known as the Protestant Reformation, a theology professor in Germany nailed a list of statements to the door of the church, as was the custom of the day when making a public declaration. His goal: prompt theological conversation regarding certain practices of certain persons within the church in order to strengthen the church’s clarity on the message of the gospel.

Quick to respond but slow to react: it’s the graceful way.

Sunday, October 22, 2017

Quick to respond but slow to react, this is the ability that grace gives us. It gives the ability to be quick to respond to God’s word without fear but also gives us the ability to be slow to react in the flesh. In essence, grace gives us the ability to truly function with a Christ-like mindset. This Sunday we will be expounding on the practical purposes of a graceful mind.

A Graceful Mind

Sunday, October 15, 2017

A graceful mind: this is God’s design for each of us. Philippians 2:5 tells us “Let this mind be in you which is also in Christ Jesus.” A graceful mind is a “God influenced mind.” Often people excuse selfishness, pride, or evil by claiming their rights.

Graceful Patterns

Sunday, October 8, 2017

Church family, what a privilege it is to share these moments with you! As our pastor has been leading us through studying and applying grace in our lives, it is a blessing to have the opportunity to celebrate the patterns of graceful living that we have occasion to follow. Those patterns point us to the impact grace has in our own lives and ways we may demonstrate grace and impart grace to those around us.
